Being someone dependable, counted on, carries an expectation. When fatigue hits, a crack shows, all the work is forgotten, and the people stop believing. They find another. Heroes don’t exist as in the movies. They are not always available, not always present. One act of service is all they may have to give, and yet, it’s not enough.

What if Peter Parker was fed up. Always pouring his cup over and having no one to fill it back up. Maybe he picks up smoking, maybe he avoids helping someone in need, maybe he quits. Either way, Spider-Man will always be called upon, but not Peter Parker.
